Teen arrested in connection with Dutch Bros. robbery in Roseburg

December 20, 2018

Roseburg police have arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the robbery of a Dutch Bros. Coffee on Diamond Lake Boulevard Tuesday evening.

Police did not release the name of the juvenile.

Sgt. Jeff Eichenbusch of the Roseburg Police Department said the suspect was wearing a mask and displayed a firearm and demanded cash from an employee at approximately 7:15 p.m. The employee cooperated with the suspect’s demands and the suspect was seen running north on Fulton Street.

A police K-9 team responded and attempted to track the suspect, but the dog was unable to locate the teenager.

During the investigation, police identified the 17-year-old as a potential suspect, made contact with him at his home, and later arrested him in connection to the robbery.

The teen was lodged at the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center.

In March, three Roseburg Dutch Bros locations — on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northeast Stephens Street — were robbed. In 2010, a Dutch Bros. barista in Eugene shot and killed an armed robber after the intruder momentarily looked away while holding the barista at gunpoint inside a Franklin Boulevard coffee kiosk near the University of Oregon.
