S.Korean Wins Japan Golf Tournament
INABE, Japan (AP) _ South Korean Lee Young-me finished with a final round 5-under 67 Sunday to capture the $570,000 Yukijirushi Ladies Tokai Classic by three strokes.
Lee, who entered the round four shots back, birdied the first two holes to start the round and added five more birdies for the day’s best round.
It was her first victory of the season and eighth overall on tour in Japan. Lee earned $102,000 for the win.
Lee caught up with overnight leader Harumi Sakagami at 10-under on the par-4 15th, and took the lead with another birdie on the final hole.
A demoralizing bogey with three putts on the par-3 16th knocked Sakagami out of her share of the lead before Lee birdied the par-5 18th hole.
With her final round of 75, Sakagami ended up tied for fourth at 7-under 209.
Yuri Fudoh and Taiwan’s Tseng Hsiu-feng shot 71s to share second at 8-under 208.
