BOSTON (AP) _ Etan Thomas rebounded from one of his worst games of the season, scoring 25 points as No. 24 Syracuse beat Boston College 73-56 Wednesday night.

The Orangemen (19-9, 10-7 Big East) broke it open midway through the first half and controlled the inside for their second easy win of the season against the smaller Eagles (6-19, 3-14). Syracuse rolled to a 49-point win at the Carrier Dome on Jan. 21.

Thomas, who scored only five points and didn’t have a blocked shot for the first time in 60 games in Sunday’s loss to UCLA, hit his first five shots against Boston College and finished 10-of-13 from the field.

Jason Hart had 15 points and a career-high seven steals, while Ryan Blackwell added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Orangemen. Syracuse outrebounded BC 49-20, including 21 offensive boards.

Kenny Harley scored 20 points for Boston College, which lost its fifth straight.

The game was tied 13-13 before Syracuse took control with a 12-0 run over a 3:44 stretch. During the spurt, Boston College was held without a point for just over six minutes, while the Orangemen had three fastbreak layups. Hart added a 3-pointer for Syracuse’s first basket from outside the paint.

Syracuse opened the second half with a 10-4 run to increase its lead to 48-26, and Boston College got no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.
