2nd man pleads guilty in Denver train station shooting

DENVER (AP) — A second man has pleaded guilty in the shooting death of a man during a robbery at a Denver train station.

Nathan Valdez pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and other charges Friday in the death of 32-year-old Tim Cruz last February.

Ever Valles pleaded guilty in November to aggravated robbery and accessory to murder under a plea deal in the case. He had been expected to testify against Valdez at his trial later this month.

Before the shooting, Valles had been held in the Denver jail on an auto theft charge. The Mexican national was released after officials gave immigration officials 25 minutes’ notice, a move later criticized by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Valdez and Valles are scheduled to be sentenced March 9.
