Man Hospitalized in Fitchburg Shooting

FITCHBURG -- A man was hospitalized on Thursday night after suffering a gunshot wound on Normal Road.

According to Fitchburg police Capt. Matthew LeMay, the man called 911 from ABS Gas & Go on Lunenburg Street after being shot. LeMay said that the alleged shooter was later found on Normal Road and was in custody being booked.

LeMay said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported by ambulance first to UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital in Leominster and then to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
