2nd person charged in North Carolina daycare abuse
REIDSVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A second worker has been arrested in a child abuse investigation at a daycare center in North Carolina.
The Reidsville Review reported 55-year-old Mary Neal Winchester of Reidsville is charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse stemming from the investigation into abuse at Lil’ Daydreamers Child Development Center in Reidsville.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said earlier that 39-year-old Nekeisha Latwanna Walton of Eden was arrested Feb. 15. She is also charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
Both women are being held in the county jail. It was not known if they have attorneys.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has helped in the investigation. Details of the allegations have not been released.
