Boxer Mitch ‘Blood’ Green Arrested
NEW YORK (AP) _ Mitch ``Blood″ Green, the heavyweight boxer who won a $45,000 courtroom decision over Mike Tyson, was arrested Tuesday for violating an order of protection filed against him by a 40-year-old woman.
Green, 41, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. on a Harlem street corner after police received a telephone call that he allegedly had harassed the woman, said police spokesman Jerry Varson. The woman was not injured.
Varson did not immediately know the relationship between the woman and Green. Also, it was not known if Green remained in police custody.
In January, Green was arrested in the lobby of a Manhattan building by police officers who said they saw him throw a small bag of the hallucinogen ``angel dust″ or ``PCP″ to the floor as they approached him.
Green, who has been arrested before for possession of angel dust, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession and criminal trespass. The trespass charge stems from his alleged illegal activity while on city housing property.
Last October, a civil jury awarded Green $45,000 after the trial of a lawsuit in which he charged that Tyson, the former heavyweight champion, had assaulted him in a 1988 street fight outside a Harlem leather goods store.
