School board member arrested at Success Village meeting
BRIDGEPORT — Outspoken Board of Education member Maria Pereira was arrested for breach of peace and other minor charges Tuesday evening after a board meeting at Success Village Apartments got out of hand.
The meeting had to do with the removal of five Success Village board members. Sources told the Post that Pereira was supporting one of the board members who was later removed and replaced. Pereira, 51, is not a resident of Success Village; she lives on Nutmeg Road, according to city records, some distance away.
She was charged with criminal trespass, breach of peace and interfering with an officer and her bond was set at $5,000.
