WEDNESDAY: Payroll processor ADP reports how many jobs private employers added in January, 8:15 a.m.; National Association of Realtors releases pending home sales index for December, 10 a.m.; Federal Reserve policymakers release statement, 2 p.m. NOTE: The Commerce Department will postpone releasing fourth-quarter gross domestic product data because of the government shutdown.

THURSDAY: NOTE: The Commerce Department will postpone releasing personal income and spending for December because of the government shutdown.

FRIDAY: Labor Department releases employment data for January, 8:30 a.m.; Institute for Supply Management releases its manufacturing index for January, 10 a.m. NOTE: The Commerce Department will postpone releasing construction spending data for December because of the government shutdown.
