Teays Valley Presbyterian hosts free fall fest
SCOTT DEPOT — Area families are invited to a free Fall Festival at Teays Valley Presbyterian Church from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30. The church is located at 5339 Teays Valley Road next to Teays Valley Manor in Scott Depot.
This third annual community outreach is an invitation for everyone to join the church for free food, fun, and fellowship. Activities include a hay ride around Oakwood Estates, face painting, a photo booth, a slime station with the Leaps and Bounds staff, rock painting with the Girl Scout troop, a cupcake walk, the inflatable Jupiter Jump, visits with “guests” from the Putnam County Animal Shelter and a campfire with the Boy Scouts.
Special guests this year include Them Rotem Boys performing Gospel bluegrass music and Batman and his Batmobile. Batman will share his message of hope for our children and communities. He teaches four principles: never give up; always do the right thing; help other people; and never be a bully.
Batman John Buckland, owner of Heroes-4-Higher, says that “The mission of H4H is to inspire children to ‘Be the Hero.’ ” He does this with “high quality costumes with an unforgettable message” to make an impact on young people.
Free grilled hot dogs and all the trimmings will be served starting at 5 p.m. in the Teays Manor picnic area below the church parking lot. At 6 p.m., the Boy Scouts will provide marshmallows for roasting on the campfire and making S’mores.
The church’s Praise Band will lead the singing of some favorite songs around the campfire, and the event will close with fellowship and time together with Pastor Kyle Key.
