No. 4 Clemson looks to clinch ACC Atlantic against FSU

November 9, 2017

Florida State (3-5, 3-4 Atlantic Coast) at No. 4 Clemson (8-1, 6-1, CFP No. 4), Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Line: Clemson by 19.

Series record: Florida State leads 20-10.

Clemson can wrap up its third consecutive ACC Atlantic Division title — and fifth in coach Dabo Swinney’s nine full seasons — by beating the struggling Seminoles. Florida State needs three wins to qualify for a bowl and keep its run of 35 straight postseason games alive.

Clemson QB Kelly Bryant vs. Florida State’s front seven. The Seminoles may be down, but their defense is not out. Florida State is stocked with NFL-type talent that will look to make a mark against Bryant. Clemson’s junior quarterback has excelled on the ground, but has misfired at times through the air.

Florida State: RB Cam Akers. The freshman successor to Dalvin Cook put up his best career game last week with 199 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a needed, 27-24 win over Syracuse.

Clemson: DE Austin Bryant. The junior lineman has been a terror on quarterbacks this year, with 13.5 tackles for loss — 6.5 of them sacks. He’s tied for second in the ACC.
