Bridgeport police respond to report of ‘grenade’
BRIDGEPORT — Police responded to a report of a grenade at a Union Avenue home shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.
According to Bridgeport police spokesman Terron Jones, a 911 caller indicated there was a real grenade at the Union Avenue address. The home and surrounding area was temporary evacuated and the state police were contacted.
Jones said incident was cleared by the state police and that the area and home is now safe. He said the state police has information “regarding the validity of the device in question.” However, state police had no information on the incident when contacted Sunday evening.
