Mall partially evacuated after fire in clothing store
WAYNE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a New Jersey mall was partially evacuated over the weekend after fire broke out in a clothing store.
Passaic County prosecutors say fire crews were called a little before 11 a.m. Saturday after the fire was reported in the Hollister store in the Willowbrook Mall.
Officials said people were moved off that wing of the property after “significant” smoke spilled into a Bloomingdale’s department store nearby. No injuries were reported.
The North Jersey Record reported that a sign in the window at the Hollister store on Sunday said it was closed due to “an electrical problem.”
Authorities haven’t released information about the cause of the fire, which remains under investigation.
