Rec. Dept. Job Opportunities
LEOMINSTER -- The Recreation Department is accepting applications for fall and winter part-time employment until Sept. 14 or until the positions are filled for all programs.
Part-time positions available during the 2018-19 seasons are: assistant program coordinator; youth basketball league directors, referees, scorekeepers and timekeepers; fitness instructors; program instructors and coordinators for youth and adult activities; instructors and/or contractors for school vacation programs. The department is also looking for new program ideas and individuals interested in running these programs for youth and adults.

Aubuchon family supplies students
LEOMINSTER -- Thanks to the generosity of the Aubuchon family of Princeton, 100 local children will be going back to school with all of the supplies they need.
The family donated 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to the Spanish American Center this week. The backpacks will be distributed to local students at the center on Aug. 23.
Westminster chief search panel meets
WESTMINSTER -- The Police Chief Search Committee will have its first meeting Wednesday, Aug. 22.
A screening committee is looking fill the position previously held by Sam Albert, who left the department for a post at UMass Memorial Health Alliance Hospital in Clinton.
The committee will discuss the timeline for the police chief search and the interview process.
The Board of Selectmen appointed members to the committee at the end of July. Members of the committee include Town Administrator Karen Murphy, local law enforcement, town department heads, and residents.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
