Disposable Diapers on Milford’s want list
MILFORD-The city’s legislative delegation is teaming with the Milford United Way and Team Inc.in hosting a month long drive to collect unusued, new diapers which will be distributed to families in need.
State Rep. Pam Staneski said the drive will run from Sept. 12 to October 10.
Staneski, who is the Republican state senate candidate in the 14th district, said one in three families struggle to buy diapers which are not covered by the Women, Infants and Children of Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program.
Diapers can be brought to the following donation sites: Boys and Girls Club, 59 Devonshire Road; the Milford Bank branches at 33 Broad Street, 205 Bridgeport Avenue, 1455 Boston Post Road, 295 Boston Post Road and 259 Merwin Avenue; the Milford Health Department, 82 New Haven Avenue; Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue and Milford Pediatric Group, 321 Boston Post Road.
Other sites are the Nutmeg State Credit Union/DMV Express, 977 Boston Post Road; Opin Orthodontics, 266 South Broad Street; People’s United Bank, 1636 Boston Post Road; Harold F. Woodruff Family YMCA, 631 Orange Avneue; Title Boxing Club, 169 Cherry Street and the United Way of Milford, 20 Evergreen Avenue.
