MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) _ Jeff Bagwell hit a two-run homer and the Houston Astros scored six runs in 1 2-3 innings against Livan Hernandez to beat the Florida Marlins 7-1 Saturday.

Carlos Villalobos hit a bases-loaded triple in the first off Hernandez, who allowed six hits and walked two. He retired only four of 12 batters and left after 48 pitches.

``That’s what spring training is for,″ he said. ``You throw and see what isn’t right. I need to throw more strikes.″

Hernandez said he typically starts slowly in spring training.

``He’s constantly living on the corner,″ Marlins manager John Boles said. ``With that, it takes you awhile to get that pinpoint control.″

Houston’s Dave Clark went 2-for-2 with an RBI triple and a walk. Derek Bell went 2-for-3 with a double. Bagwell singled in the first and homered to right field in the second.

Astros starter Mike Hampton allowed two hits in two scoreless innings and was the winner. Sean Bergman and Chris Holt also pitched two scoreless innings apiece.

Todd Dunwoody had two of the Marlins’ eight hits. Dave Berg drove in their only run with a single in the seventh.
