NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Authorities in the Bahamas say a tourist has been bitten by a shark in the second such attack in less than two months.

The unidentified woman was hospitalized after being bitten on her ankle and foot while snorkeling on Thursday.

The woman's condition was not immediately clear, and Assistant Police Commissioner Stephen Dean said he did not have further details.

A handful of attacks have occurred in recent years across the Bahamas, where bull and tiger sharks are present.

In June a North Carolina cruise ship passenger lost part of her arm to a shark bite.
