Several sentenced in drug cases in Lawrence Co.

IRONTON — A Portsmouth man was sentenced Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to two years in prison for violating community control sanctions.

Julius Sudderth, 62, admitted failing drug screens and failing to report to probation officials. Judge Christen Finley sentenced him in the case.

In an unrelated case, Van Lee Herrell, 37, of County Road 1, South Point, admitted violating community control sanctions. He was sentenced by Judge Andy Ballard to a year in prison. Herrell admitted failing to report to probation officials and walking away from a treatment program at Riverside Recovery.

In other cases:

• Denise M. Murphy, 48, of the 700 block of South 7th Street, Ironton, pleaded guilty to trafficking in heroin and was placed on community control sanctions for four years. She was ordered to complete up to a six-month program at the STAR Community Justice Center in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, and do 200 hours of community service.

• Gary L. Hicks Jr., 43, of the 1100 block of South 3rd Street, Ironton, admitted violating community control sanctions and pleaded guilty to possession of meth. He was placed on community control sanctions for four years, was ordered to complete a drug rehab program at Mended Reeds and do 200 hours of community service.

• Chad Lewis, 43, of Township Road 1336, South Point, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and was placed on intervention in lieu of conviction. He was ordered to get treatment at Mended Reeds in Ironton and stay drug-and alcohol-free for a year.

• Erica Dean, 35, of Route 1, Lesage, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence. Dean was placed on community control sanctions for four years and was ordered to complete the program at STAR.

• Zachary D. Corn, 26, of the 1300 block of South 1st Street,

Ironton, pleaded innocent to charges of felonious assault, tampering with evidence and improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation. Bond was set at $50,000.

• Doris Sharp, 26, of Offnere Street, Portsmouth, pleaded innocent to a charge of burglary and denied violating community control sanctions. Bond was set at $50,000.

• Michelle L. Patrick, 44, of County Road 1, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of heroin. Bond was set at $25,000.

• Kathy Wallace, 38, of Green Acres Drive, Raceland, Kentucky, pleaded innocent to possession of drugs and illegal conveyance of prohibited items on the grounds of a detention facility.

• Martin Benicker, 60, of the 2500 block of South 9th Street, Ironton, pleaded innocent to possession of drugs. Bond was set at $5,000.

• Anthony T. Nicely, 22, of Township Road 1143, South Point, pleaded innocent to possession of LSD.

Bond was set at $3,000.

• Scott Fisher, 48, of the 300 block of Kemp Avenue, Ironton, pleaded innocent to five counts of forgery, tampering with records and resisting arrest. Bond was set at $2,000.

• Seth N. Thompson, 22, of the 1900 block of Dixon Street, Ashland, pleaded innocent to aggravated possession of drugs (meth).

• Tina Bowens, 43, of Peebles, Ohio, pleaded innocent to possession of heroin. She was ordered to continue drug treatment at Adams Recovery Center. A $25,000 signature bond was set.
