76ers Waive Goodrich, Three on IL
PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ The Philadelphia 76ers waived forward Steve Goodrich and placed centers Matt Geiger, Theo Ratliff and Stanley Roberts on the injured list, general manager Billy King said Monday.
Goodrich played seven games during the preseason, averaging 2.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game. He shot 38.9 percent from the field and 60 percent from the foul line.
Geiger, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Oct. 27, is expected to be out 4-6 weeks. The 7-foot-1 center averaged 13.5 points and 7.2 rebounds in 30.8 minutes per game last season.
Ratliff, who also plays forward, has a stress fracture in his left ankle. He averaged 11.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in 32.5 minutes per game. Roberts, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, joined the 76ers last month as a free agent after spending last season with the Houston Rockets.
Ratliff and Roberts will miss a minimum of five games each, the team said.
