Legion Post 71 to hold Veterans Day ceremony in N.A.

North Augusta’s Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post 71 will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday at 11 a.m.

The ceremony was originally scheduled to be held at Wade Hampton Park in downtown North Augusta, but has been moved to the Post home at 333 E. Spring Grove Ave.

Participants in the Ceremony will include members of several local veterans’ military service organizations, as well as, the Fort Gordon Joint Choir, the North Augusta High School’s Junior Navy ROTC Drill Team, and the Post 71 Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The Keynote Speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Michael L. Smith, Brigade Operations Officer, U.S. Army Cyber Protection Brigade, at Fort Gordon, Ga.

“We hope all of our local citizens will observe Veterans Day by attending our ceremony, or in some manner honor the men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country in the military services,” said Ralph Wainright, commander of Post 71.
