Center for the Collaborative Classroom Announces Positive Learning List Review for the Organization’s Collaborative Literacy Texas Edition for Grades K-5
ALAMEDA, Calif., Feb. 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Center for the Collaborative Classroom, a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to providing curricula that support the academic, ethical, social, and emotional development of children, today announced that Learning List has found Collaborative Literacy Texas Edition to be deeply aligned to the TEKS. The program also meets 100% of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) required for the K–5 literacy curriculum. Texas schools can now use Proclamation 2019-allocated funds to adopt Collaborative Literacy.

Collaborative Literacy is a rigorous, yearlong curriculum that addresses the core reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills that students need to thrive academically and socially. By integrating literacy instruction with social and emotional learning (SEL), Collaborative Literacy enables students’ development as readers and writers who think critically, while simultaneously fostering their growth as caring, collaborative, and principled people.
Collaborative Literacy includes Being a Reader, Guided Spelling, Making Meaning, and Being a Writer. With a focus on embedded professional learning, Texas educators will have access to a core literacy program that is designed to support their own learning as they engage in daily lessons. Collaborative Literacy is one of four core ELA programs and the only one developed and distributed by a nonprofit organization on the Proclamation 2019 Instructional Materials Adoption List.
