NBA Lockout Said to Bother Jordan

October 28, 1998

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) _ Michael Jordan, who hasn’t decided whether to return to the Chicago Bulls, is frustrated by the NBA lockout, according to his college roommate.

``He said if this keeps going much longer he’s going to have a pot belly like me,″ said Appalachian State coach Buzz Peterson, who roomed with Jordan while the two played at North Carolina.

Peterson said Wednesday he talks to Jordan once every other week and played golf with him recently.

``He is wanting to make a decision,″ Peterson said. ``He’s a very sharp businessman and he’s going to weigh every option out. He still really believes physically he’s got another year or two in him. Mentally, that’s where he’s got to evaluate.″

The NBA on Wednesday canceled all games through November.
