TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The Latest on a Tucson fatal shooting (all times local):
Tucson police say a man holding a gun was fatally shot when he approached a car in a store parking lot and that the man inside the vehicle who fired is considered a victim.
Sgt. Pete Dugan said the man who was shot arrived at the scene around midnight Wednesday in an SUV with other people, got out and approached the other vehicle before being shot.
Dugan says the man in the car who shot the other man remained at the scene and cooperated with the police and that there’s no immediate indication that the two men knew each other.
According to police, the man who was shot is considered the suspect in the incident.
The SUV drove off but was later located and the people inside it were detained for questioning.
The incident remains under investigation and no immediate arrests were made.
Tucson police are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s east side.
Police say one man is dead following the shooting early Thursday in a store parking lot near Speedway Boulevard and Kolb Road.
