Donald Duck Gets Fame Walk Star

August 10, 2004

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ It was a ducky day in Hollywood when cartoon character Donald Duck received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

A beaming Donald (actually someone in a duck costume) and Mickey Mouse were among those who attended the star’s unveiling Monday on the sidewalk in front of the Walt Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre and Disney store in Hollywood.

``Donald particularly appreciates this,″ quipped Disney chief executive Michael Eisner. ``Mickey isn’t even jealous.″

The feisty fowl made his debut in the 1934 Disney cartoon, ``The Wise Little Hen.″ He began starring in his own cartoon vehicles in 1937.
