Bill Radovich, Ex-USC Standout, Dies
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Bill Radovich, an All-Pro offensive lineman with the Detroit Lions in 1945, died in Newport Beach, Calif., of cancer. He was 87.
The death of Radovich was announced Monday by Southern California, where he was a three-year letterman.
Radovich, who died last Wednesday, was an offensive guard for Howard Jones’ Trojans from 1935-37. He played with the Lions from 1938-41 and again in 1945, and for the Los Angeles Dons in 1946-47.
Radovich, who went to Hollywood High, is survived by a brother, Walt, and a sister, Gloria Kaye Clinton, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at St. Sava Church in nearby San Gabriel.
