Men arrested after fatal shooting at Fayetteville home

Two men were arrested after a man was shot and killed mid-Monday morning at a home in Fayetteville.

Byron D. McMillian, 27, of Erwin, and Tony D. Surles, 19, of Dunn, were both charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weeapon.

McMillian and Surles were being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond Tuesday.

Around 8:15 a.m. Monday, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 100 block of Homeplace Court.
