France: Israel must find photographer’s attackers
PARIS (AP) — France has called on Israel to prosecute Israeli settlers who stoned a Palestinian photographer’s car in the West Bank.
Abbas Momani, a photographer working for the Agence France-Presse news agency, says he suffered minor injuries to his face and hands when armed settlers smashed the windshield of his car Friday.
AFP distributed photos of four of the suspected roadside attackers, three of whom also carried pistols, and Momani remonstrating with Israeli soldiers nearby.
France’s foreign ministry says in a statement Monday it expects Israel to “track down the perpetrators.”
Momani and other journalists were traveling to cover Palestinian demonstrations in a refugee camp north of Ramallah when the attack happened.
