February 8, 2019

WASHINGTON (AP) — A man has been arrested in a shooting that wounded 5 people, including a child, at a Washington, D.C., bus stop.

WTOP-FM reports District police say 30-year-old Ronnell Rashickle Offutt was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Police didn’t immediately release a motive.

Police say he was armed with a handgun when he walked past the crowded bus stop near Pennsylvania Avenue on Monday night and fired into the crowd, shooting four men. The child was cut by broken glass. All five were treated at hospitals with injuries that were not life threatening.

It’s unclear if Offutt has a lawyer.
