POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) _ With just seven seconds left in the game, Dave Loya connected with Joe Rosato on a diving catch into the endzone to help Duquesne to a 27-24 victory over Marist Saturday.

Marist led 10-0 at the half after Jim Daley threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Jon Reed and Jeff DeVito followed with a 22-yard field goal. Marist extended their lead to 17-0 in the second half when Daley connected with Reed on a 55-yard scoring strike.

Loya, who finished 19 of 42 with 278 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions, threw for all of Duquesne’s points in the last 21 minutes of the game. With touchdown passes of 19, 56, and 5 yards, Loya brought Duquesne (3-1) to a 20-17 lead with 12:43 remaining.

Marist (2-2) answered with an eight play, 26-yard drive capped by a one-yard dive into the endzone by J.J. Allen to capture a 24-20 lead before Duquesne reclaimed the win.

Daley threw 8 of 14 for 141 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Reed carried six passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Mario Wilson led with two interceptions as Marist’s defense held Duquesne to just 84 yards in the first half.

Duquesne’s Andre Hatcher carried the ball 25 times for 69 yards. Rosato had eight receptions, three touchdowns and 135 yards. Earl Johnson tallied 112 yards on six receptions, one for a touchdown while Jade Burleigh had nine tackles and seven assists.
