LAS VEGAS _ From Vietnamese churches to Thai restaurants and even on TV, signs show that Asian-Americans are the fastest-growing racial or ethnic group in the Las Vegas area. The U.S. Census estimates the number of Asian-Americans living in Clark County more than tripled since 2000, to more than 220,000. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that people from the Philippines now make up more than half the county’s Asian-American population. Chinese-Americans are second with about 29,000 residents.
