James Jr. Smith of Barboursville
JAMES JR. SMITH, 28, of Barboursville, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1990, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Alta Carol Smith and the late Pershing C. Smith. “Jimmie” was a line cook for Cracker Barrel in Barboursville whose contagious personality drew the hearts of many. His biological father, James Arley Smith, also preceded him in death. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Amber Smith, of five years, along with their children whom were his pride and joy, Kaleb Michael Smith and Madalynn Sophia-Marie Legenza; his stepfather, Ira Berry, and biological mother, Shawna France; a sister, Wendy Nedzelski (Ted); a brother, Devin Smith; half-brother, Cody Pack; stepbrothers, Gregory Berry, Jackie Berry, Brett France; a half-sister, Brittany France; stepsister, Ashley Shannon; the mother of his son, Michelle Williamson (Dustin); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, friends and co-workers. James gave the gift of life to many, choosing to be an organ donor. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne. Burial followed at the Wilson Cemetery, Genoa. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses at St. Mary’s MICU.
