Former WPIAL star RB Zane Dudek named preseason All-American
After a breakthrough debut season in college football, former WPIAL star running back Zane Dudek was selected to the FCS Preseason All-America team.
Dudek, a sophomore at Yale and an Armstrong High School graduate, is the reining Ivy Leagie Rookie of the Year. He was named to the preseason second team.
Dudek ran for 1,133 yards and 16 touchdowns last season to help lead the Bulldogs (9-1) to the conference title. He averaged 113.3 yards per game.
As a senior at Armstrong, he had the most productive season of any rusher in WPIAL history. He ran for 2,955 yards in 11 games and scored a league-record 254 points.
Dudek graduated fourth all time on the WPIAL rushing list with 6,977 yards and 102 touchdowns.
Yale opens the season Sept. 15 against Holy Cross.
