CINCINNATI (AP) _ The Cincinnati Bengals signed former Arena Football League and XFL cornerback Kevin Kaesviharn to a three-year contract on Saturday.

Kaesviharn, who joined the practice squad on Tuesday, was added to the 53-man roster and is available to play in Cincinnati's game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

The Bengals waived linebacker Riall Johnson, a sixth-round draft pick this year to make room on the roster for Kaesviharn. Johnson had appeared in three games and made two tackles on special teams.

The Bengals' secondary has been depleted by injuries, prompting them to add Kaesviharn. He spent two seasons with Iowa in the Arena Football League and played nine games for the San Francisco Demons of the XFL last year.

The Green Bay Packers signed him as a free agent on April 25, then waived him on Aug. 27.
