Norfolk celebrating National Adoption Month this weekend

November 14, 2018

NORFOLK - November is National Adoption Awareness Month and Norfolk will be celebrating it this weekend with entertainment and activities at the Norfolk Family YMCA.

The event, hosted by Judge Ross Stoffer will include a jump house, swimming, laser tag, crafts, a meal, and a short program for children that have been adopted in surrounding counties over the past year and their forever families.

Judge Stoffer says every year it’s great to see the adopted kids happy and with their permanent family.

“With some of these kids, some of the changes that have happened to them are tremendous. You’ll have a kid that’s quite or not very outgoing, but you’ll find out later that they’re now succeeding and doing very well in school.”

The event is set to take place Saturday from 3 to 6 at the Norfolk Family YMCA by invitation only.
