Amanda Davis Named News Editor in Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP) _ Amanda Davis, a newswoman in the Kansas City bureau of The Associated Press, has been named news editor in Phoenix.
The appointment was announced Tuesday by Phoenix Chief of Bureau Kevin Walsh.
Davis, 32, joined the AP in Kansas City in 1988 after working for United Press International. She is a native of Belleville, Ill., and a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
Davis succeeds George Garties, who was appointed assistant chief of bureau in Los Angeles.
