Fire damages homes in Trolley Run development in Aiken on Saturday evening
Two homes in the Trolley Run development suffered “pretty significant damage” from a fire Saturday night, according to GVW Fire Chief Ray Scott.
No one was injured in the fire, which effected three houses along Strutter Trail. The two houses most effected by the fire have interior and exterior damage, especially on the backside, Scott said.
What caused the fire was not immediately known.
“We’re still looking into it,” Scott said.
A call went out for a possible brush fire at 465 and 461 Strutter Trail just before 7:30 p.m., the chief said. Upon arrival, there was black smoke coming from both homes. The fire was making its way toward the next home down the street, as well, Scott said.
Firefighters attacked the brush-turned-structure fire from two sides, according to the chief. It took less than 30 minutes to get the fire completely under control.
