Medline Increases Warehouse Productivity with Zebra Technologies
LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun 12, 2018--Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), the market leader in rugged mobile computers, barcode scanners and barcode printers enhanced with software and services to enable real-time enterprise visibility, announced Medline has chosen Zebra’s TC51 touch computer for its warehouse operations as part of an upgrade for its voice-directed picking solution. Zebra Premier Solution Partner, Strategic Mobility Group, helped Medline select the TC51 to improve warehouse picking, increase employee productivity and future proof its enterprise with an Android-based device.
KEY FACTSThe TC51 touch computer paired with Zebra’s HS3100 Rugged Bluetooth headset will help Medline quickly and efficiently process more outbound customer orders with its voice-directed picking solution. Workers will be able to move freely without a wired headset as orders are processed. Medline uses Lucas Move from Zebra Premier Solution Partner Lucas Systems for voice-directed picking, the mobile component of the Lucas Mobile Work Execution Solutions. The TC51 touch computer is the first Android-based industrial computer certified for Lucas Move. The TC51 touch computer is part of Zebra’s industry leading Android™ OS portfolio and enables Medline to move its warehouse teams seamlessly to an Android OS as Windows CE support ends in 2020. Ease of use design of the TC51 touch computer also appealed to Medline for its front-line warehouse workers. The TC51 delivers the look and feel of a smartphone with the ruggedness, security and durability of an enterprise device.
Paul Ancona, VP Engineering Operations, Medline
“The TC51 functions like a smartphone with the ruggedness of an industrial device. That was a critical differentiator for us and makes it easy to deploy across our warehouse branches where we already have seen an increase in productivity. It also offers us Android OS which we wanted to future proof our technology.”
Joe White, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Mobile Computing, Zebra Technologies
“The TC51 has been successful globally because it is built with an industrial design that feels like the most popular consumer-style smartphones but works in the enterprise. Pairing it with the HS3100 Rugged Bluetooth Headset ensures high-quality voice performance with the power and security Medline needs.”
