WSCC buys building in Manistee
VICTORY TWP. — West Shore Community College’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved buying a property in downtown Manistee to create a satellite campus there.
The board agreed to buy a building at 400 River St., that one time housed a Glik’s. It has 13,000 square feet with frontage on the Manistee River boardwalk. The building, though, wouldn’t house West Shore Community College alone. In a memo to the board, President Scott Ward stated the Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce and Networks Northwest would each sign 10-year leases for space. And, a donor has stepped forward with $1 million to assist with the project.
