September 22, 2018

MCDONOUGH, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a man drove toward officers and got away following a chase in suburban Atlanta.

Authorities say a Henry County police officer attempted to pull over a car on Interstate 75 about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, but the driver fled. Two officers pursued the vehicle to a cul-de-sac in McDonough. But as the officers approached, investigators say the driver drove toward them, prompting the officers to fire their weapons.

The vehicle was later found, but the driver had fled.

News outlets report the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Joseph Jeannick Moore, who remains at large. Moore is described as a white male, 6-feet-tall, weighing about 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 770-477-4479.
