Police: Monessen man accused of assault, disseminating intimate photos of ex-girlfriend

November 9, 2018

A Monessen man is charged with assaulting a former girlfriend after he allegedly attempted to drag her with his vehicle during an argument this month about intimate photographs she accused him of sharing with a friend, Monessen police said.

Jonathan R. Minniti, 33, was charged Monday with simple assault, harassment and disseminating obscene photographs.

Police were called to Moffat Street about 8:15 p.m. Oct. 9 to investigate a domestic dispute, Officer Chris Gray reported. The victim told police she and Minniti had recently ended a relationship. She said they were arguing about photographs of her he had not deleted from his cellphone.

The victim discovered Minniti had forwarded “the pictures she had sent him” to one of his friends, Gray reported in court documents.

“During the time the argument occurred, Minniti grabbed (the victim’s right arm) and bent it back; he scratched her face, trying to get his phone. (The victim) stated when she got the door open on the car, he took off down the road and started to drag her,” Gray reported.

Gray said the woman reported she had not given Minniti permission to share the photographs and that Minniti told her he had deleted them.

The complaint was sent via summons. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Dec. 21.
