BOSTON (AP) _ Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear know all about togetherness.

The actors play conjoined twins in ``Stuck on You'' and spent more than their share of time in makeup, especially for scenes in which they appear bare-chested.

``Those bodies aren't our bodies. The whole thing is a kind of giant rubber suit that goes on in pieces,'' Damon told the Boston Herald in an interview published Sunday, ``It was really a painstaking process. We would go in at 3 in the morning, ... and these artists would just go to work on us for 12 hours. We were literally stuck on each other on those days.''

In the comedy, Damon and Kinnear play Bob and Walt, who live on Martha's Vineyard. Kinnear's Walt decides to pursue his acting dream in Los Angeles and, of course, Damon's Bob has to go along. The brothers are tested even more when Walt lands a spot on a new television series starring Cher, who plays herself.

Directors (and brothers) Peter and Bobby Farrelly ``came with the concept of us two doing the movie and being strapped onto each other for months and months,'' Kinnear said. ``The concept I thought was pretty out there, but I read the script and liked it, and I thought that (the Farrellys) would know how to walk the line with it, that it would be done in the right spirit. .... They would follow the story the way that I would want it to be followed: that these guys are winners.

``So that's what grabbed me, and then, the fact that Matt Damon was doing it, I did it anyway,'' he said, teasing his co-star.

``Stuck on You'' opens Friday.
