HUNTINGTON — Marshall volleyball defeated Ohio in four sets Wednesday at the Cam Henderson Center 25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22 in the debut of the arena’s new state-of-theart, center-hung scoreboard and videoboard.
The Thundering Herd improved its record to 4-4 and 2-0 at home while the Bobcats fell to 2-5 on the season.
In a back-and-forth opening set, Marshall took five of the final six points and sealed the victory after a service error from Ohio.
The Thundering Herd won the third set after breaking a 13-13 tie by taking eight of 10 points.
Marshall then took nine of the final 12 points in the fourth set to capture the match win.
The second set saw Ohio break a 12-12 tie with eight of the final 11 points to win the only set the Bobcats would earn in the contest.
Marshall had 41 assists from Gabrielle Coulter who played in all four sets.
Joelle Coulter led the team with 22 kills while Amber Weber had 24 digs to lead all players.
Ohio had 13 kills each from Lizzie Stephen s and Jamie Kosiorek and 26 assists from Vera Giacomazzi.
