Stove Pipe Appears to Cause Fire at Lyons Home
First responders from northern Boulder County helped put out a house fire in Lyons on Saturday night, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Dispatchers received a 911 call reporting the fire at about 9:15 p.m., according to the release.
First responders saw smoke and flames inside the home. It appears the fire started in the attic where the a pipe for a wood-burning stove passes through to the roof, according to the release.
A resident and a pet were able to escape the house on their own with no injuries. It appears they were alone in the house, according to the release.
In addition to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, responding agencies included Lyons Fire Department, Hygiene Fire Department, investigators from Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team, and AMR ambulance.
The cause of the fire still is under investigation.
