Girls State Golf Championship ends earlier for all classes due to rain
The Girls State Golf Championships concluded today. The Class ‘A’ State Championship second round was cancelled at Norfolk Country Club due to rain.
Lincoln Southwest is the champion after carding a 341. They won by 17 strokes. Omaha Marian’s Jalea Culliver and Omaha Westside’s Kaitlyn Hann are co-Champions after shooting 76. They won by a single stroke. Norfolk’s High’s Kylie Blume carded a 97 and Leah Vanderheiden shot 114. The Class ‘B’ event at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus was cancelled at 12:00 today due to rain. The day one leaders were awarded medals. Omaha Duchesne is the champion after a 330. They won by 30 strokes. Omaha Duchesne’s Anna Boor is the medalist after a 74. She won by three strokes. Class ‘C’ called their event at approximately 2:30 at River’s Edge in North Platte due to rain and used day one scores to crown champions. Cozad & Ogallala tied for the team championship after a 390. Columbus Scotus & West Point-Beemer knotted for seventh place at 444. Battle Creek finished at 447, Norfolk Catholic ended at 452, and Hartington Cedar Catholic carded a 455. Ogallala’s Harley Hiltibrand & Mitchell’s Kenzey Kanno are co-medalists at 83. West Point-Beemer’s Brook Diekemper tied for fifth place at 88, Pierce’ Sydney Erickson knotted for ninth at 91, and Boone Central/Newman Grove’s Abby Brodersen tied for twelfth place at 94. Norfolk Catholic’s Anna Kassmeier put up a 97, Hanna Neesen shot 110, Kalee Gilsdorf carded a 117, Carly Thramer put up a 128, & Autumn Alder shot 133. 41 golfers from the Northeast Nebraska area participated in the events.
