Bismarck man sentenced to 2 years in stabbing incident
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck man has been sentenced to two years in prison for stabbing another man near a local bar.
The Bismarck Tribune reports 43-year-old Jeffrey Todd Knight pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in a plea deal with prosecutors last month.
Burleigh County Assistant State’s Attorney Marina Spahr says Knight will have to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.
Knight was arrested on March 22 after Bismarck police responded to an altercation near the Tap-In Tavern.
A 48-year-old man was transported to a hospital with a stab wound on his face and abdomen. Authorities say he suffered brain bleeding and other head injuries.
