SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — The state's new Department of Fire Services Springfield campus is being dedicated.

Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito is scheduled to preside over the ceremony on Tuesday morning.

This $13.4 million project was built on the site of the former Springfield Fire Training Center bought by the state from the city. The site has been transformed into a state-of-the-art training facility for firefighters from the western areas of the state.

Others scheduled to attend are Secretary of Public Safety and Security Daniel Bennett, State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan, Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno, and state Senate President Stanley Rosenberg.
