CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) _ NASA has set Jan. 22 as the launch date for the next-to-last space shuttle trip to Russia's Mir station.

Endeavour is scheduled to blast off in the evening with several-thousand pounds of supplies and a crew of seven, including Andrew Thomas, who will replace Dr. David Wolf aboard Mir.

Wolf has been living on Mir since late September. NASA approved his stay on the aging, damaged space station after considerable debate.

This will be the eighth time a shuttle has docked with Mir. One other linkup is planned, in May to pick up Thomas. He will be the last American to live on the outpost.

Mission managers on Wednesday approved the launch date.
