Ken Laskewitz -- Rochester
Ken D. Laskewitz, age 57, of Rochester, formerly of Austin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 19, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born Sept. 28, 1961, in Austin, the son of David and Judy Laskewitz. He grew up in rural Austin, graduating from Blooming Prairie High School in 1980. Following high school, he attended Rochester Community College, where he earned his Business Management degree.
On Sept. 24, 1988, he was united in marriage to Laura Oswald at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Ken liked to spend his leisure time golfing and bowling, and he loved animals and technology, especially cameras. He most recently had been working at the Rochester YMCA and belonged to Bethel Lutheran Church. Ken will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Laura of Rochester; his parents, David and Judy Laskewitz of Austin; mother-in-law, June Oswald of Brownsdale; brothers, Randy (Angie) Laskewitz of Austin, and Rodney Laskewitz of Reeds Landing; his sister, Renee Bergmann of Faribault; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gen; grandfather, Henry Medgaarden; and father-in-law, Gordon Oswald.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Karen Behling officiating. There will be a visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 26 at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials to donor’s choice.
