UPCOMING TODAY:

CIA-HASPEL-POLITICS

WASHINGTON — Political divisions within the Democratic Party are playing out in the vote to confirm President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the CIA. After a favorable 10-5 vote on Gina Haspel’s nomination by the Senate Intelligence Committee, her confirmation by the Senate seems all but certain. The nomination has split Democratic senators from rural and noncoastal states won by Trump and liberals in solid blue states whose opposition to Haspel fuels the party’s base. By Lisa Mascaro. FERTILIZER SHORTAGE

MINOT, N.D. — Significant headway with spring planting is helping to ease an anhydrous ammonia shortage that’s inconvenienced North Dakota farmers. An emergency order from the governor easing driving restrictions for truckers has helped. UPCOMING: 300 words. Photo requested.
