Reward offered for information in homicide case
Santa Fe Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the death of Michael Willms, a 58-year-old Santa Fe man who was found slain in his midtown apartment in late June.
According to a search warrant affidavit, Willms was stabbed in the face, neck and shoulders.
Court records document at least two instances in which Willms, a longtime Los Angeles event planner who moved to Santa Fe around 2012, said he was beaten by younger men who he had invited to live with him.
Santa Fe Police Capt. Robert Vasquez has said Willms seemed to have a “very active social life” and often socialized with members of the homeless community.
Anyone with information regarding Willms’ death is asked to contact Santa Fe police Detective Lisa Champlin at 505-955-5044 or Crime Stoppers at 505-955-5050.
